Welcome!
Hi there! Welcome to my blog. My name is Omotola Thomas and I am a speaker, writer, and self-proclaimed Reckless Optimist.
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2016 at the age of 35. I established this blog, ParkinStand®, to share my experiences and to encourage others battling Parkinson's disease... or any other challenges, really. As you look through the blog posts, video diaries, and other content on this site, I am confident you will find something of inspirational value.

Mission
To spread positivity and hope in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges.

I believe that, in times of adversity, a strong spirit is the most important weapon an individual can possess.

What is a ParkinStand?

A ParkinStand® is any positive action performed in spite of the mental and physical limitations imposed on a person with a debilitating illness. Broadly put, it is a stand against whatever challenges you are facing.
A parkinstand is not limited to exercise alone. It could be changing your diet, volunteering, going out with friends, or even reading a book to expand your knowledge.
If it is a positive action taken in the face of challenges, and it makes you feel empowered, it is a parkinstand!
